Benefits: The major benefit for using an open-source CMS package—besides being low-cost—is that these packages are easy to maintain, since the source code is freely available. Secondly, an army of eager programmers is busy fixing the bugs, so you typically get a relatively bug-free software. Overall, majority of users are quite happy with open-source software.
